The Combi Arch - Making brickwork arch systems simple

Hanson Brick, the UK’s leading brick manufacturer, has introduced the new CombiArch as another component in the company’s development of complete building solutions.

CombiArch brings together the aesthetic appeal and high quality finish of a traditional brickwork arch with a load bearing steel lintel designed to support the typical loading of an outer leaf cavity wall. The Combi is delivered to site complete with a brick slip finish which avoids wastage, reduces on-site construction time and achieves consistency of finish.

Factory-finished pointing is an option or this can be done on site to match surrounding brickwork. Each lintel includes a 200mm end bearing and the brickwork bond arrangement may include soldier and stretcher bonds. Standard arches are currently produced in typical spans of 900, 1200 and 1770mm although other spans, depths, patterns and bond types are available to order.

The CombiArch is in addition to the recently introduced FabrikArch, also from Hanson Brick, which uses brick slips attached to non-load bearing lightweight aerated concrete that sits directly onto a standard proprietary lintel and overcomes the need for complex arch formers.CombiArch

Paul Rogatzki, technical services manager, says, “Following the highly successful launch of our FabrikArch we believe that the CombiArch will provide a complete composite unit which is both highly functional and even easier to use. Our technical team will be happy to discuss the respective cost models for each solution.”
