Kitchen Design Ideas
The process of planning your kitchen design can be very stressful. With so many things to think about and decisions to make, it’s easy to lose your way and end up with something that falls short of your expectations. A new kitchen is a considered purchase so it’s natural to want something that’s going to tick all the boxes. If you’re considering enhancing your home with a new kitchen, here are some tips to help you plan:
The “working triangle”
This is a term used by many kitchen designers and means the following three things – cooking, food, preparation and cleaning (i.e. – sink area). Your kitchen needs to be functional even if you’re not the biggest fan of cooking, if your kitchen is not user friendly you will definitely regret it. When planning your kitchen, you need to think about where you want your commercial dishwasher and the practicalities of how you will actually use the room.
Styling
Choosing the style of your kitchen cabinets is central to achieving the look that you want. If your home is of an open-plan design, this becomes even more important; you need to ensure that the style you choose is sympathetic to the decor in your main living area. If your kitchen is a singular room then you can be quite daring with your colour scheme.
Lighting
Having the right lighting can make your kitchen look a million dollars so think carefully before you buy. If you’re opting for a more contemporary design, think about recessed spot lights, under counter lights or track lighting. If you have a kitchen that leans more towards the traditional side then choosing something more ornate might be better.
Colour
Don’t forget about the colour of the walls and floor, this is cannot be a secondary thought and must decided upon right at the beginning to make sure everything fits together.
